Hydroexcavation of Septic Tank
Rhino Services provided a commercial lot septic tank hydro-excavation project, utilizing a powerful combination vacuum and hydroblasting truck to dislodge and remove dense sludge, hardened scum, compacted solids, and liquid waste from a large-capacity below-ground septic system. The work required Class A CDL drivers and a full five-person crew with specialized training in high-pressure water jetting, confined space protocols, vacuum material handling, and commercial site safety. As shown in the project photo, team members coordinated seamlessly—one operator managing the vacuum truck controls, a technician directing the hydroblasting wand into the tank, and additional ground personnel overseeing hose routing, spoil containment, and site safety on the active commercial lot.
Crews used high-pressure hydroblasting to break apart stubborn, settled layers inside the tank while the truck’s industrial vacuum system simultaneously extracted the liquefied material, restoring the tank’s full design capacity and eliminating system backups. The non-destructive approach protected the concrete structure and surrounding pavement while enabling fast, complete cleaning without excavation.
Beyond the extraction work, Rhino coordinated equipment staging, off-site material hauling and disposal, site access management, and thorough post-service cleanup to keep the commercial property operational with minimal interruption. The team continuously monitored jetting pressure, vacuum loading rates, and safe positioning of hoses and equipment around foot traffic and vehicle areas. The completed septic tank restoration improved system reliability, reduced health and environmental risks, and returned the lot’s wastewater infrastructure to peak, code-compliant condition.
